Pedro Plaza Salvati

Pedro Plaza Salvati (Caracas) holds a master’s degree in creative writing from New York University and a master’s degree in literary creation from the Universidad Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. He earned a cum laude B.A. in international studies from The American University in Washington, D.C. He won the prestigious XVI “Transgenerico” literary prize in 2016 for his book What Joan Didion Told Me (Chronicles of New York), currently translated into English. His most recent work is the novel Broadway-Lafayette: el último andén (Kalathos Ediciones, Madrid, 2019). He has also published the short story collection Decepción de altura (Equinoccio, Caracas, 2013) and the novels El hombre azul (bid & co., Caracas, 2016) and El lugar de las nubes (San José, Uruk Editores, 2016). His story “El puesto 690 de la sala de lectura” was included in Escribir en Nueva York: Antología de narradores hispanoamericanos (Editorial Caja Negra, 2014). He has published literary pieces at Asymptote, LALT, Papel Literario, Buensalvaje, Áncora, and Mercurio and is a regular contributor to Prodavinci. He lives in Barcelona, Spain.
