Andrew McDougall

Andrew McDougall was born in Glasgow and studied Portuguese and English Literature at the University of Edinburgh. He has also lived in Sussex, Lisbon, Coimbra, Logroño, Vitoria-Gasteiz, and Norwich, where he completed an MA in Literary Translation at the University of East Anglia. His published translations include work by authors from Portugal, Angola, Brazil, and Spain. He has also translated several children’s books, including an adaptation of The Three Musketeers. Some of his translations have appeared in journals such as Your Impossible Voice, Qorpus, The Riveter, and Art in Translation. He also works with the Stephen Spender Trust to deliver translation workshops in schools. He translates from Portuguese, Spanish, and Catalan.
