Laura Esperanza Venegas Piracón

Laura Esperanza Venegas Piracón (Bogotá, Colombia, 1990) earned undergraduate degrees in Philology and Languages from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bogotá, and in Political Science from the same university. She holds a Master’s in Translation from the Universidad de Antioquia, where she currently teaches Translation courses to undergraduates. She has published academic texts in the areas of translation and political theory; the most recent is the chapter “Lenguaje, discurso y política” in the book Las Farc-EP en la coyuntura estratégica de la paz negociada (2010-2017): Un acercamiento a su lenguaje político subalterno (2021). As a fiction writer, she is co-author of the short story collection Esperanzas (El Taller Blanco Ediciones, Bogotá, 2021).
