Nancy Jean Ross

Nancy Jean Ross recently graduated from UBC with a master’s in Hispanic Studies. She wrote her thesis on the travel writing of Rosario Castellanos. Her poems and translations have been published in The Malahat Review, the Paterson Literary Review, And Then, and other journals. In addition to her work on Castellanos, she translated the New York/Puerto Rican poet Myrna Nieves’s retelling of the children’s fairy tale Otra versión de Hansel y Gretel. Her translations of three of Castellanos’s letters (from a different period than the ones included in this issue of LALT) are scheduled to appear in the summer 2024 issue of The Georgia Review.
