John Templanza Better

John Templanza Better is a queer poet, novelist, and freelance journalist from Barranquilla, Colombia. A protégé of Pedro Lemebel, he is the author of Locas de felicidad (La Iguana Ciega), a collection of urban crónicas, which features an introduction by Lemebel, and 16 atmósferas enrarecidas, which won the Premio Nacional de Cuento Jorge Gaitán Durán. His first novel, A la cas/za del chico espantapájaros, was published in 2017 by Emecé. Better’s work has appeared in English in World Literature Today, Latin American Literature Today, and Queer: A Collection of LGBTQ Writing from Ancient Times to Yesterday, edited by Frank Wynne for Head of Zeus.
