Nara Vidal

Nara Vidal is from Guarani, Minas Gerais, and has an Arts degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, as well as an MA from London Metropolitan University. Between novels and short story collections, she has published six books, as well as various works of children’s literature. She was one of the Oceanos Prize winners in 2019 with her debut novel Sorte. Her work as editor of the magazine Capitolina Revista won her the APCA Prize, while her short story collection Mapas para Desaparecer won the Luiz Gondim Book of the Year Prize in 2021. The same book was shortlisted for the Jabuti Prize. Her novel Eva was a finalist for the São Paulo Prize for Literature. Her books have been published in Brazil, Portugal, Mexico, and the Netherlands, while her short fiction has appeared in Anglophone publications such as The White Review, Joyland, Asymptote, MIR Online, and Latin American Literature Today. She was a guest author at the 2022 Guadalajara Book Fair and was awarded Portugal’s D. Luis I Literary Residence. She also writes for publications such as 451, Claudia, and Máxima. She is a translator and one of the owners of the Sala da Escrita. She also teaches creative writing. Her literary work is represented by LVB & Co.
